TQ-Self Application-Arm - 1

Depicts a simulated lower arm injury with bleeding. The injured person is self-applying a tourniquet. The simulated wound (laceration or incision) is an apparent knife injury. Appropriate direct threat care, assuming the environment is still considered to be a hot zone.

TEACHING POINT: Note that the TQ is being applied high up the arm and is sufficiently tight to stop the bleeding.

Depicts a simulated injury to a victim’s chest.  The simulated injury appears to be a jagged wound that is actively bleeding.  Not apparent whether the injury was sufficiently deep enough to create an open thoracic injury.  It appears the injury is being assessed and/or bleeding control is underway via direct pressure.
